Make a Difference: Your fundraising event directly helps fund new or upgraded equipment & technology for the Ajax Pickering Hospital so that all our medical staff to care for every patient who comes through our doors
Engage Your Community: Hosting an event brings people together for a common cause, fostering a sense of unity and support within your community.

Any family, group, company or organization that would like to support health care in our community.
Why organize your own event?
We all have our own reasons for supporting the Ajax Pickering Hospital Foundation. Perhaps you or someone you know was recently treated at our hospital and you’d like to express your appreciation for the care received. Perhaps you’d like to celebrate the life of a loved one or valued colleague. Maybe you’re just looking for a meaningful way to give something back to your community. Maybe you just want to have fun!
Special events can be lots of fun to plan and attend, and are a great way to rally your friends or members and get them working together for a great cause.
What you can raise money for at the Ajax Pickering Hospital?
You can raise money to support the hospital in general, an individual department or even a specific piece of equipment or technology*.
*If you would like to support a piece of equipment or technology either,
- talk to the Ajax Pickering Hospital Foundation first so that we can brainstorm some equipment options for you and let you know the cost so you know how much you have to raise, or
- let the Ajax Pickering Hospital Foundation know how much you have raised and we can brainstorm some equipment options for you based on that specific amount
What are some event ideas?
- Have a progressive dinner, with each course representing a different international cuisine or held at a different location
- Get a youth group together to wash windows in your neighbourhood
- Raffle a hand-made item
- Hold a fun run for women over 40, or offer a charity casino night
- Community Fundraisers: sporting events, golf tournaments, car washes, garage sales, pancake breakfasts, BBQ by donation, fashion show, etc.
School Fundraisers: Make sure to first obtain approval from the school principal (high school or elementary) or facilities manager/events, services/administration (post secondary)
- Some ideas for a school fundraiser are: school dance, dance-a-thon, bake sale, floor hockey tournament and hula-hoopathon
Work Fundraisers: Work fundraisers are a great way to build team spirit while raising money for the Ajax Pickering Hospital
- Some work fundraiser ideas: tea time/ bake sale, jeans day, bowling party, 50/50 draws, or company picnic
Things to Note
- Ajax Pickering Hospital Foundation is not responsible for any of the event’s accounting.
- Ajax Pickering Hospital Foundation does not need to be the sole beneficiary of your event; you are very welcome for your event to support multiple great organizations in our community.
- Tax receipts will only be issued based on CRA rules.
