On January 20, 2026, a team from Elexicon Energy braved the cold to come and check out the 8 new vital signs monitors that their 2025 Charity Golf Tournament funded for our Emergency Department. As well as taking a photo outside the hospital, they also delivered the monitors directly to the unit where they were immediately deployed into action.
Community engagement is at heart of how Elexicon Energy operates. They believe that they’re not just serving addresses, but also the people who live at those addresses. And we are so grateful for their commitment and investment in our community’s health.
A Vital Signs Monitor is a workhorse within a hospital. And in the emergency department, it is used on every single patient when they first arrive. The monitor quickly and painlessly measures several vital parameters including blood pressure, heart rate, pulse oximetry (oxygen level of the blood) and respiratory rate. Acuity level and stress can also be quickly determined with these measurements.
During a patient’s stay in the ED, the monitors can alert the staff to any fluctuations or changes in their vital signs helping the staff to determine patient placement and needs, such as medications, IV fluids, position changes, needing a stretcher or able to sit in a chair . Plus, many medications and treatments can require blood pressure, heart rate and oxygen readings and re-evaluations over time. Patients can receive their treatments while staff re-evaluate their effectiveness and alert the physicians to changes without the patients having to move to the monitor, allowing them to stay put, ideally facilitating patient comfort.
In 2025, Elexicon Energy’s fifth annual Charity Golf Tournament set a new record, raising $350,000 in support of seven local charities. These organizations provide a wide range of essential services in the rapidly growing communities where Elexicon operates—including health and wellness programs and emergency support for women and children. This milestone brings the total funds raised over five years to more than $1.1 million, making a lasting impact in our communities.
