Mayor Shaun Collier and Gala Chair, Rose Collier, have lots to celebrate after the huge success of the 2025 Ajax Mayor’s Gala on June 14th!
And with the “Boots & Bowties” theme, guests sure did come ready to kick up some dirt on the dance floor, share stories at the Canadian Whisky bar, and enjoy a gourmet meal together.
During the reception, guests were treated to the soulful sounds of country signer Alycia Hebert while deciding what creations to try at the mixologist bar in the lobby.
After a delicious meal in the dining hall, the live band New Hollywood and the local crew of Dance Inc. got line dancing started, and the dance floor energy continued into the late night with the VJ.
Since 2019, gala guests have come together annually with the objective of supporting the Town of Ajax. “The success of this event is due to the generosity of the sponsors, many who come back year after year to support our community. We couldn’t do it without them!”, said Mayor Collier.
With over 50 combined sponsors for the Boots & Bow Ties Gala, everyone contributed to bringing the total net funds raised since 2019 to over $1,700,000 for the Town of Ajax! And by next year’s event, Mayor Collier is hopeful to surpass the $2 million (net) mark!
Most of the funds raised at the Boots & Bow Ties Gala will go toward a two-year commitment made to the Ajax Pickering Hospital Foundation. The Ajax Mayor’s Gala has pledged to give the Foundation $500,000 for the purchase of multiple Automatic Drug Dispensing Units for the surgical and medical units at the Ajax Pickering Hospital.
By automating the dispensing process, these medication-dispensing cabinets ensure unparalleled accuracy and precision in medication administration, minimize the risk of adverse drug events and enhance patient outcomes. Real-time tracking and inventory management features empower our hospitals’ health care professionals with the ability to closely monitor medication usage as well as expiration dates. The cabinets’ advanced security and controlled access mechanisms provide an additional layer of protection, preventing unauthorized access and theft, thereby fortifying patient safety even further. The Automatic Drug Dispensing Units are impactful to every patient cared for at the Hospital.
Additional funds raised through the Gala will be committed to other charitable organizations and not-for-profits that are working to benefit our community.
