| The annual Mayors’ Charity Golf Classic is the premier golf event in Durham Region! Since 1996, this event has brought our community together to raise funds for essential medical equipment at the Ajax Pickering Hospital Foundation. Thanks to your support, we’ve been able to purchase life-saving tools, from an emergency department cardiac management system and code blue carts to a green light laser for urology and infant care centres for newborns. We are incredibly proud of the impact we’ve made together, providing vital equipment that has served hundreds of thousands of people. This year’s tournament is funding two new 4K surgical towers for the Operating Rooms at Ajax Pickering Hospital, with the best camera and monitor available. Every day, surgeons are looking at the tiniest of details in the inside of our bodies. No one wants a variation in colour, patterns and structures to be missed if it means giving a patient the “all-clear”. The tower’s sharper 4K picture provides a truer-to-life clarity of colour and detail so important in minimally invasive, microsurgical, and general surgery procedures.
