COPD program receives lifeline
Thanks to the tremendous response of a corporate donor, an important program at Rouge Valley Health System now has a partnership to continue providing the Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) program.
Earlier this year, representatives from Boehringer-Ingelheim Canada learned that the program was in need of funds in order to keep running. Their quick response and contribution of $15,000 resulted in ensuring the program would remain and help patients who count on COPD for specialized treatment, for the year to come.
In recognizing the donation at a special presentation this August, Dr. Sacha Bhinder, a respirologist at Rouge Valley Centenary hospital, thanked Boehringer-Ingelheim Canada representatives for the support and explained the impact the program has on patients.
Vince Vavala, Manager of Healthcare Affairs at Boehringer-Ingelheim Canada, pointed out this type of gift fits in with the company’s commitment to social responsibility. Boehringer-Ingelheim Canada supports efforts to enhance the sustainability of our healthcare system for years to come.
